Today, our second group of children had a wonderful visit to the Care Village, where we continued to build those all important relationships between the children and the residents.

It was lovely to see meaningful connections developing as the children spent time chatting, playing and getting to know new friends. These visits are such a valuable opportunity for the children to develop their confidence, communication skills and social awareness, while also experiencing the joy of connecting with people from a different generation.

There were lots of opportunities for working together and having fun. The children enjoyed completing puzzles, sharing ideas and helping one another. We also got creative with drawing, giving everyone the chance to express themselves and share their imagination.

A particularly special part of the visit was sharing a new story. We enjoyed reading Shell’s beautiful book, Grufflalo Granny, which gave us plenty to talk about and enjoy together.

Throughout the visit, it was wonderful to see friendships beginning to form. The children were becoming more comfortable in their surroundings, showing growing confidence and discovering how much they have in common with their new friends at the Care Village.

These experiences are about so much more than a visit, they are about relationships, kindness, belonging and learning from one another. We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again and continuing to nurture these special connections.
