We had another fantastic day at Forest School, filled with nature, creativity, music and plenty of opportunities to learn new skills!

One of the highlights of the day was when John discovered a diving beetle in the pond and brought it along to show us. The children were absolutely fascinated by this little pond creature and enjoyed taking a closer look at our exciting discovery.

There was plenty of time for outdoor exploration, too. The children enjoyed getting stuck into the mud kitchen, mixing, creating and exploring with natural materials. We also continued to build up our dead hedge, adding more sticks.

The main focus of our day was woodwork and music, and we were delighted to welcome a very special visitor, Catherine, who brought along her guitar, affectionately known as Gertie Guitar.

Together, we sang lots of songs accompanied with lots of soft toy resources. The children loved joining in, experimenting with sounds and sharing in the joy of making music together.

We also spent lots of time developing our woodwork skills. The children had great fun learning how to use different tools safely and carefully, building confidence, coordination and independence as they explored the possibilities of working with wood.

It was a lovely day full of curiosity, creativity and collaboration. From discovering fascinating pond life to making music and learning new practical skills, the children made the most of every moment in our wonderful outdoor classroom.
