We had another wonderful Forest School session this week, full of imagination, curiosity and lots of exciting discoveries! The children decided they wanted to make potions, and everyone had their own ideas about what their potion might turn them into, from dinosaurs to unicorns!

They set to work independently, collecting and experimenting with different natural materials to create their magical concoctions. It was lovely to see the children following their own ideas, testing different materials and sharing their imaginative stories.

The children have decided their potion-making isn't finished yet, so we're looking forward to continuing our experiments next week!

Some of the children also popped over to the allotment to visit our older friends, who showed us their compost heap and all the amazing bugs living inside it. We learned how these tiny creatures help to break down natural materials and create healthy soil.

We also learned about brambles and the fruit that grows on them, and one of our friends had made us a fantastic caterpillar from milk bottle lids. The children loved it so much that it has now found a home in our small world area. It's lovely to see how our wonderful volunteers continue to inspire the children's play.

After lunch the children helped move some of the bark chippings to create a small cosy area in our Forest School space. It's beginning to take shape, and we're excited to see how the children develop it next week.

We have began developing the fire pit area and invested in some new cooking equipment. We were excited to open our new tripod that arrived for our fire pit. We worked together to build it up and it looks amazing over the fire pit area ready for fire week. The children were very excited and have already been thinking of recipes they would like to try cooking on the fire!
