Thursday 5th November

What an amazing day we have had at Forest School! There has been so much excitement, lots of exploring and some very special discoveries.

This morning, we had a very special visitor – Honey, who is training to become a guide dog! Honey showed us how well she could sit and lie down, and she was incredibly sensible. Very soon, she will be off to school to continue her training and learn all the important skills needed to become a guide dog. It was lovely to meet her!

We also spent some time with Shirley, one of our wonderful volunteers, who kindly gave us some fresh peas to try. We decided to save our tasting session until after lunch, and we were not disappointed! The peas were delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed trying them.

Meanwhile, the mystery of the conker thief continues! We have been keeping a very close eye out, and one of the children even decided to set a trap. To our surprise, we caught something rather unexpected… the golden rabbit! Clearly, this is no ordinary rabbit – it must be a very magical one!

Our investigations didn't stop there. We spotted an interesting hole in the ground and started wondering what might be living inside. We came up with lots of ideas, including a rat, mole, squirrel, rabbit or even a mouse. We will keep a close eye on the hole and might even set up our trail camera to see if we can discover who lives there.

But the most exciting discovery of all came when we checked our trail camera. Can you guess what we spotted?

A STOAT!

We couldn't believe our eyes! What an incredible and exciting discovery. It is wonderful to know that such fascinating wildlife is visiting our Forest School.

What a day full of curiosity, teamwork, tasty treats, magical mysteries and amazing wildlife discoveries. We wonder what adventures await us next time!
