Veronica Welsh, N.N.E.B. CSS
Veronica Welsh has managed the nursery since its inception in 1982. She was carefully selected for her wealth of experience in Childcare and Education both in the private and public sector.
Deputy Manager
Diane Gregory, N.N.E.B DPQS
Joined Childsplay in 1983 and after 7 years experience with 0-5 year olds was promoted to Team Co-ordinator. Further promotion followed in 1995 to her role as Deputy Manager. Senior responsibilities include the role of Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.
Third in Charge
Helen Lyall
Helen has worked in the field of childcare for 12 years. Since arriving at Childsplay 5 years ago Helen has successfully worked as a Team Co-ordinator with the 2-3 years age range and has recently been promoted to Third in Charge.
Team
The remaining staff team comprises 16 early years professionals. All staff hold recognised childcare qualifications e.g. N.N.E.B / B- Tec Diploma in Childcare and Education.
As Childsplay is committed to delivering high standards and providing a quality service, it ensures that staff continue to develop professionally by providing a wide variety of training opportunities to develop their skills and expertise. In addition to individual training opportunities, inset training days are scheduled twice a year (nursery closes), when the entire staff team have the opportunity to share and participate in appropriate training workshops, which promotes a whole team approach. For example 'Outdoor Curriculum,' Customer Care.
Staff are commited to treating all children with equal concern and respect ensuring that all childrens individual needs are met.
